IndoorDoctor Says Winter Can Be the Most Effective Time to Test Indoor Air Quality 02/11/2012 |
Major contributors of indoor pollution include combustible heating sources and fireplaces, both of which emit miniscule particles that can deeply penetrate one's lungs and can cause or worsen respiratory disease. Dander from household pets can also amplify as conditions prevent them from spending significant time outdoors, resulting in greater prevalence of allergic symptoms. IndoorDoctor is able to measure and indentify such fine particulates using a handheld particle scanner in order to help families determine steps to reduce indoor air pollution.

IndoorDoctor Tests Harmful Radiation Exposure From Cell Phones 06/01/2011 |
BOSTON, MA--(Marketwire - Jun 1, 2011) - The World Health Organization (WHO) announced yesterday that radiation from cell phones increases users' risk of getting cancer. Can House Plants Clean Polluted Indoor Air? 03/25/2011 |
Boston -- Anyone with house plants has probably heard they're healthy to have around. They're aesthetically pleasing, and they release oxygen into the air.
But now some scientists say certain house plants actually remove indoor air of pollutants that can make you sick.
But in a statement the Environmental Protection Agency said "There's no evidence that a reasonable number of house plants can remove significant quantifies of pollutants."
Environmental engineer Jeff Bradley agrees.
"We don't see any analytical data to support the reduction of those contaminants to any significant measure," said Bradley.

IndoorDoctor Warns New Englanders Against Hidden Mold Damage From Hurricane Irene 08/29/2011 |
BOSTON, MA — Homeowners in Massachusetts and New Hampshire may not think that their basement took in water from Hurricane Irene, but hidden moisture may exist within carpeting and walls. This moisture can seep into the basement foundation, leading to very favorable conditions for mold growth, IndoorDoctor President Jeffrey Bradley warns. Unseen and unidentified dampness from Hurricane Irene makes for a toxic arrangement when coupled with basements' already higher mold spore counts that are present due to higher humidity and lack of overall cross ventilation.

BOSTON, MA--(Marketwire - July 21, 2010) - New England-based environmental engineer Jeffrey Bradley advises homeowners to pay particular attention to signs of mold in their basements in the coming weeks. "Mold spores are very buoyant and are likely to rise to the first, and even second, floors of a home," Bradley warns. "We're in the middle of a 'Perfect Storm' for accelerated mold growth. The weather has created all of the necessary ingredients for increased mold levels in homes."
Bradley, who is the President of IndoorDoctor, LLC (www.indoordoctor.com), has seen an unprecedented increase of mold spores in New England homes this summer as compared to previous years. "Our phones ring constantly with homeowners ...
